Marian Mihail is an EU-qualified lawyer and football executive with more than a decade of experience at the intersection of sports law, club management, and football business. Having worked on both the legal and operational sides of professional football, he brings a practical understanding of how regulatory developments affect transfers, contracts, governance, and commercial decision-making.
His practice focuses on the FIFA Regulations on the Status and Transfer of Players (RSTP), the regulation of football agents and intermediaries, proceedings before the FIFA Football Tribunal and the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), and the contractual relationships between clubs, players, and their representatives. Marian advises football stakeholders on navigating regulatory complexity, managing disputes, and turning legal risk into clear, commercially sound decisions.
Alongside his legal practice, Marian is a Visiting Lecturer at a law school in Bucharest, a member of the European Football Clubs’ Legal & Regulatory Work Group, and General Counsel of FC Rapid Bucharest, one of Romania’s leading professional football clubs. His experience combines specialist legal knowledge with first-hand insight into the pressures faced by club executives, sporting directors, owners, and agents. Previously, he held executive positions in Rapid and Charlton Athletic.
