As Head of Scouting at CSKA 1948, I lead the identification, evaluation and recruitment of players who can strengthen our team while creating long-term value for the club. Our approach is data-driven: we combine performance and physical metrics, video analysis, live scouting and market intelligence to assess each player’s qualities, potential and fit within our playing model.
A central part of my work is finding value in markets where talent may be overlooked or undervalued. Rather than focusing only on established names, we seek players whose abilities, development potential and financial profile offer an opportunity to outperform their acquisition cost. Data helps us focus our search and challenge assumptions; detailed observation helps us understand the player behind the numbers.
I align scouting with the club’s sporting strategy, translating the coaching staff’s needs into precise positional profiles and a structured recruitment process. We assess technical and tactical qualities, athletic capacity, decision-making and adaptability, always considering the demands of Bulgarian and European football. Every recommendation must make sense both on the pitch and within the club’s financial framework.
Our ambition is to remain competitive in the Bulgarian league and maintain a presence in European competitions while building a sustainable squad with players who can grow in value. This means balancing immediate performance with long-term potential, managing recruitment risk and acting decisively when the right opportunity appears.
For me, effective scouting is not about producing the most reports. It is about asking better questions, finding meaningful signals in the available information and turning those insights into sound decisions. My goal at CSKA 1948 is to build a scouting operation that gives the club a competitive edge through discipline, innovation and a clear understanding of value.
